David Pienta
David has worked in the criminal justice industry for 10 years. David has been a law enforcement officer for 4.5 years. David has worked full-time as an application/web developer for 15 years. David currently works as a full-time application developer for a law enforcement / federal government consulting firm in Tallahassee. David works part-time for the Florida A&M University Department of Campus Safety and Security as a police officer. Prior to FAMU, David was a Class I Reserve Deputy with the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office.
David is a NRA certified Pistol Safety Instructor and a certified ALERRT Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) Instructor
Some of the program areas David has worked in include the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM), Tribe and Territory Sex Offender Registration Program (TTSORS), VALOR for Blue, and Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT).
David has also served as a sports official (referee) for 25 years. He has worked leagues from Little League to D-I. David Serves as a volunteer judge for the Leon County Teen Court program.
David holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in Management Information Systems. David graduated from the Florida Public Safety Institute (Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy).
